ACADEMY DAY CAMP The SMU Women’s Soccer Academy is now proud to offer day camps for local girls throughout the Dallas Metroplex. Come join other children your own age in the beautiful and safe setting of the SMU campus. Girls will be placed in small groups, according to age and ability, to allow for more individualized attention from some of SMU’s finest collegiate soccer players and staff. The Day Camp is open to players of all levels and specializes in technique and skill development. The Day Camp is sure to be a fun and unique experience. It runs Monday through Friday 9:00 am – noon.

ACADEMY RESIDENTIAL CAMP The SMU Women's Soccer Academy is one of the premier soccer camps in the United States. Coach Brent Erwin and his dedicated staff of coaches will provide an opportunity to better understand the game of soccer. This program is designed for girls who have a strong desire to improve their abilities as soccer players. Located on the campus and fields at SMU, players will participate in a challenging but fun week of soccer instruction. Once at the SMU Academy, players will be broken into small groups based on age and skill level. This allows every player to improve more quickly as well as receive more individual attention. During the morning sessions, we will teach and correctly demonstrate the skills needed to improve the player's individual technique. Individual creativity is encouraged among our campers in order to develop confidence and a more positive attitude toward the game of soccer. The afternoon session concentrates on tactical development using small-sided games that will allow the players to learn in a game environment. The evenings at SMU consist of nightly tournaments with full-sided games. During these games, the players are able to demonstrate the technique and tactics learned during the day. At the SMU Soccer Academy, we strive to teach the campers the skills that they need to improve along with how to use those skills in the game. Teams are welcome at the camp. You may register together, and we will make sure they stay together with the same coach throughout the week. Parents are welcome to all evening sessions. *There is a $25 discount for groups with 9 or more players.

COLLEGE PREP CAMP This year we continue, in conjunction with our Residential Academy, the SMU College Prep Camp.  The College Prep camp will be for girls ages 15-18.  The College Prep camp will feature all of the normal amenities of residential camp but also provide exposure to college coaches from all around Texas and the US, extra mental conditioning training with Meagan Surrency (SMU Women’s Soccer Mental Conditioning Coach), and the ability to play nightly games observed by college coaches. A recruiting process panel will take place one evening for all participants in the college prep camp. This presentation is highly informative to the prospective student-athlete. The presentation is open to all parents and will conclude with a question and answer segment. Finally, the SMU Soccer Academy employs many college soccer coaches who can answer any questions the players may have during the week.  The SMU College Prep camp will provide the player unique insight into the recruiting process, what coaches look for in recruitable players and a glimpse into the day to day life of a college soccer athlete.

GOALKEEPER PROGRAM
In a difficult game, a good goalkeeper can make the difference between winning and losing. The SMU Goalkeeper Camp provides young goalkeepers of all levels a challenging program that will drive them to excel. Designed by noted goalkeeping clinician Joe Waggoner, the SMU Goalkeeping School is widely recognized as one of the premier Goalkeeper training programs in the country. The morning sessions will consist of detailed training in modern goalkeeping techniques. Such topics include catching, diving, breakaways, crosses and footwork. The afternoon sessions will focus on the fundamental tactics of goalkeeping such as positioning, distribution and communication. In the evening, the goalkeepers will join the field players to compete in tournament games where they will be allowed to demonstrate what they have learned. At the end of the week, each goalkeeper will be given a goalkeeper evaluation that will provide feedback on how they can improve. At the SMU Academy, goalkeepers can be confident they are getting the highest level of training possible.
